Today’s featured winery is Boathouse Vineyards!

“Located on M-204 at the bridge in the Village of Lake Leelanau, the tasting room sits on the Narrows, a beautiful waterway connecting North Lake Leelanau and South Lake Leelanau. Designed to take into effect characteristics of the surrounding area with its barn-red board and batten cedar siding along with stones that match up to buildings in the area.

Their vineyard is on a 60-acre plot on Amore Road, in Leelanau County. It consists of 21 planted acres of vines including Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot and many more!”

We are happy to have French Valley Vineyard join us again this year at wine fest! The French Valley Vineyard site (on French Road) is host to 75 productive acres of vineyards and Cherry trees, and surrounded by pastoral countryside.

“Our wines exemplify the qualities found in the rich terroir and crisp climate of Michigan and her many lakes. The location of our vineyard was carefully selected for not only its pastoral views, but for the soil quality and topography. Each wine is estate produced showcasing both the unique terroir of Leelanau as well as our winemakers dedication to crafting exceptional wines.

We are thrilled to have Lakes and Grapes as one of this years sponsors--you’ll spot their logo featured on your Leland Wine Fest wristband! Here’s a few words from the Lakes and Grapes founder, Abby Clear!

Lakes and Grapes is designed to inspire people to get out and enjoy all things Lakes, Grapes, and Midwestern living. Lakes and Grapes is a premium Great Lakes region brand, representing the ideals and aspirational qualities of classic Lakes and Grapes living: optimism, community, adventure, and infinite possibilities.

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to call Traverse City, Michigan home; a town that is blessed with miles of Lake Michigan coastline, surrounded by a countryside full of vineyards and orchards. Living around a Great Lakes wine region, summers meant escaping to the lake, taking the boat out at sunset, enjoying happy hour at the marina or indulging in the local wine scene. Simply, life was better at the lake, surrounded by grapes. From boat cruises to sunset sips in the vines, some of my best memories were created with friends and family around the Lakes and Grapes lifestyle.”

👏🏻Put your hands together for the Drew Hale Band , who will be joining us for this years’ wine fest! 🎼🎤

“Throughout Michigan, the name Drew Hale is synonymous with powerful vocals, compelling lyrics and haunting melodies. In 2016, Drew won the national Country Showdown competition held at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, earning him the title Best New Act in Country Music, as well as the $100,000 cash prize. Most recently, The Drew Hale Band won the Detroit Regional round of 93.1 NashFM’s Nash Next contest.

Influenced by Texas roots and artists such as Reckless Kelly and Eric Church, the Drew Hale Band’s music pays homage to the red dirt country and southern rock scenes, as well as paints a picture of their love for the people and culture of Michigan, where the band calls home. The Drew Hale Band can be found playing throughout the Midwest, promoting their latest album, Roots and Wings (including the single, Pieces, featuring Vince Gill). They have shared stages with Frankie Ballard, Trace Adkins, Jana Kramer, Scotty McCreery, LoCash, William Michael Morgan, RaeLynn, Trent Harmon, Drew Baldridge, The Railers, Walker McGuire, Chris Lane, The Cadillac Three, Bret Michaels, and Adam Sanders. They’ve also played festivals with some of Nashville’s biggest recording artists, including Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Dwight Yoakam, Toby Keith, Canaan Smith, and Cassadee Pope. Whether on an intimate stage at one of the many wineries or breweries throughout Michigan, rocking a bar on a Saturday night, or playing festivals such as Common Ground (Lansing, MI) or Arts, Beats, & Eats (Royal Oak, MI), you can count on an eclectic show that delivers a dynamic combination of originals and covers that bridge the gap between country, roots rock, and blues.”
