Saving Snow - free film screening
“Saving Snow” focuses on people facing the local impacts of global warming. The film inspires motivation, not despair-showing determined individuals and groups working to reduce their communities’ environmental impacts and raise awareness. Climate change is not a distant problem-it's happening now. There are things we can do about it- many people are working on solutions and you can join them. Volunteers from N Mich Citizens Climate Lobby will be on hand to talk about solutions and how we build political will.

Build a cardboard sled using only standard cardboard and duct tape. All sleds participating in the competition must be pre-registered.

Once registered, the cardboard sleds and riders will make their way up the mountain for a race like no other. All sleds and participants must be present at registration.

Compete for the best time kayaking on the snow! Equipment provided. The use of personal equipment is prohibited. Participants must be at least 8 years old. Registration required 30 minutes prior to the event starting.
12pm - 5pm: DJ Dance Party & BBQ
We'll be playing games and dancing all afternoon long! Held slopeside on the Lodge deck.
1pm: Celtic Dance
Enjoy a unique slopeside show of Dair2Treble Irish & Interpretive Dance Troupe. Directed by Rose Vanderley. Showcasing traditional Irish dancing steps!
2pm: Slush Cup

The Mjolnir Challenge features two courses: The Thunder Run straight up Thor and a Devious Dash with obstacles up Loki. Kick off the summer with this Memorial Day weekend tradition at Crystal Mountain. Enjoy live entertainment while sampling an enormous selection of Michigan's finest microbrews, local hard cider and mead, and gourmet brats from northwest Michigan markets. Held slopeside.

Drew Hale Band - Time: 3-5pm
Influenced by Texas roots and artists such as Reckless Kelly and Eric Church, the Drew Hale Band’s music pays homage to the red dirt country and southern rock scenes, as well as paints a picture of their love for the people and culture of Michigan, where the band calls home. They have shared stages and played festivals with some of Nashville’s biggest recording artists, including Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, and more. The Rock Show Band - Time: 5:30-8pm
Mirroring the look and bombast of Journey in its 1980s heyday, The Rock Show Band takes fans on a sojourn through the greatest hits of the Steve Perry era. The song list timewarps to the golden days of shoulder pads and leopard prints as the band loves, touches, and squeezes out all the greatest hits. Their flashy fun performances are sure to keep you on your feet all night!

Join us for an afternoon after-party on top of the mountain! Hop on the first chairlift ride of the season and enjoy Michigan microbrews, your barbecue favorites and live music.
Crystal Mountain asks that you please be responsible about your alcoholic consumption. We encourage our guests to assign a designated driver or use on-property shuttles when leaving the festival. Cars left overnight will not be ticketed or towed. Those who chose not to drink at the festival will still have to pay the same price for admission as those who are drinking. North Mitten Half Marathon, 10k & 5k
Kick off summer with a running start at Crystal Mountain's 5th Annual Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k race! The North Mitten Half Marathon, 10k and 5k is a combination of paved roads, dirt roads and trails. The North Mitten route consists of primarily flat, open trails on Crystal Mountain property and will not climb the mountain. Both races will start and finish at the white slopeside tent near the Crystal Clipper chairlift. This is a great spring race for beginners and experienced runners!

Prizes & Awards
Half Marathon, 10k, 5k: Top overall male and female win a River Kayak, plus entry into next year's race.
Top three racers in each category win a prize pack. An award ceremony will be held at the Start/Finish Tent at 10:30am. Race results will be posted and updated at the Start/Finish Tent.
Plus all entrants will be entered to win prizes including a resort stay!
Volunteers are needed for aid stations, course marshal, registration, start/finish line and course sweeps. All volunteers receive lunch, a tee shirt and one beverage at Micros at MountainTop.
